It is with heavy hearts we announce Gerald John Reynolds of Chatham, Miramichi passed away at Losier Hall on November 14, 2021 at the age of 86.

Gerald is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Corinne (nee Vautour); his children: Ralph and Donna (Oswald) Williston, and; his two grandchildren: Randy Williston and Corie-Lyn (Robbie) Biggs; and one great-grandchild: Oliver Gerald Biggs.

Born October 22, 1935, Gerald was one of ten children of Agnes (nee Smith) and Patrick Reynolds. He is survived by his sisters, Nora (Pete) Luciw and Theresa (late Glen) Sobey ; Predeceased by brothers Billy, Clarence, Frank, and Joseph, and sisters Beatrice Morrissey, Eileen Trudel and Mary Leonard.

Gerald and his family enjoyed their time together on “the hill”; his family has countless fond memories that will provide solace and comfort in the days ahead. He was employed with the former District 16 School Board at St. Andrew’s Elementary School for 25 years, and a devoted 53 year member of the AA Group in Chatham. He was a kind man and loved his family dearly, and enjoyed helping his fellow AA members, and friends and neighbours – and was always willing to share anything from his stocked toolshed.

Special thanks to the staff and administration of Losier Hall, to Dr. Arthur Losier for his care while a resident there, and to Dr. Gerard Losier for the many years he cared for him as family physician.

There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am Monday November 22 at Saint Michael’s Basilica. As per provincial mandates and Church protocol, all attendees must present proof of vaccination, wear masks, and present identification.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
