William Lawrence Bransfield, 86 of Gardiner’s Point passed away on Friday, January 19th, 2018 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 25, 1931,he was the son of the late William & Lillian (Carroll) Bransfield.

Billy’s true passions in life were fishing and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He worked for the Department of Transportation driving snow plows for 30 years. Billy & Louise were Foster Parents for over 20 years giving a loving home to over 200 children in need.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise (Martin). His daughters Elizabeth, Lillian (Charlie), Helena (Richard) and Karen (Michael), and his sons Lawrence (Judy) and Roy (Paulette) and Adam.

“Pa” will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Eric (Melissa), Bradley, Heather (Shane), Marcus, Sarah, Myles, Randy, Austin & Erin and great grandchildren Luke & Gwen.

He is survived by brother, Michael Bransfield of Fredericton and great friend & cousin, Richard Bransfield. Brother & sister in laws Carmel McIntyre (Bill), Ludger Martin (Irene), Edna Livette (Abel), Donat Martin (Jacqueline), Simon Martin (Theresa), Zoel Martin (Rejeanne), Wilbert Martin, Vernon (Edwin), Cora Martin all of Baie Sainte-Anne, and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Helen Green (Frank), Tommy Bransfield (Wanda), Steven Bransfield (Ellamay), brother in law Sylvio Martin and son John Bransfield.

William Lawrence Bransfield is resting at Maher’s Funeral Home in Miramichi on Monday, January 22nd from 7PM-9PM and Tuesday, January 23rd 2PM-4PM & 7PM-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 at 11AM at St. Michael's By the Sea Bayside with Fr. Leon Creamer officiating.
